Frequently Asked Questions

How fit do I need to be?

Moderately fit. The trek can involve steep, muddy forest paths for several hours. Trekking poles are provided. Most travellers aged 15–70 complete it comfortably.

What should I wear?

Long-sleeved shirt, long trousers, sturdy hiking boots with ankle support, gardening gloves (for grabbing vegetation), a rain jacket, and insect repellent. We send a full packing list on booking.

Can I get a gorilla permit on short notice?

Sometimes - but Jun–Aug and Dec–Feb slots fill months ahead. We recommend booking at least 3–6 months in advance for peak season.

Is it safe?

Yes. Bwindi is a well-managed national park. Rangers accompany every trek. Habituated gorilla families are accustomed to human presence and encounters are calm and controlled.

Do you offer family or private group tours?

Absolutely. We specialise in private and small-group tours. Contact us for custom pricing.
